A Fabulous Friday at "Quilter's Harvest"

Last Friday was "Quilter's Harvest" here in Utah sponsered by Sydney Haglund of Alpine Quilt Retreats. It was a fun filled day of mini classes taught by the greatest gals... Nanette (Freda's Hive), Melissa (Mel's Own Place), Amber (A Little Bit Biased), Amanda (The Quilted Fish), Suzanne (Quilting Cottage), and Laurel (Broadbents).

My first class was "Fabric Rings" taught to us by
the ever amazing ~ famous Nanette. Love that girl!!!
As you can see everyone was having tons of fun!
Our next stop was to the quilt shop...
"Just Sew"...
where we made "Wrist Pincushions"
This is one of Amber's latest patterns
from her pattern line known as Gigi's Thimble.
Our group went right to work and...
before you know it we were all done!
Amber also shared with us her latest creation....
this stunnig quilt... "Square Root".
And you'll never guess...
I won three of her patterns... Square Root,
Rest Your Feathers and One, Two, Buckle My Shoe!
An even bigger bonus though was meeting my
"SWEET" friend Melissa from Mel's Own Place
and receiving her special little gift that she had for me.
I just adore this girl!!!
We were off again... this time to "Dear Lizzies".
It is a darling little boutique store around the corner...
where we showed our ticket...
before being presented with a very yummy cookie
and a cold drink! SO GOOD!
Next was "The Quilting Cottage"...
where we learned to make "Fabric Corsages"...
from my wonderful buddy Suzanne Lawrence.
Diana's being a little silly here and cracking us all up!
Of course... I couldn't leave without having Debra,
the owner, cut me a piece of this wonderful
red fabric by Robert Kaufman called "Fusions".
This is my "new" found favorite right now. ;)
Our last class of the day was at my favorite place...
"Broadbents" in Lehi.
This is my dear friend Laurel!
She is getting ready to instruct us
on how to make "Zipper Bow Flowers"...
something that I have been dying to learn!
We all got them finished quickly! Then the sad part...
having to say goodbye to this fun group of gals. :-(
The fun part was doing a little Christmas shopping
before I left. I could literally go broke at Broadbents
with all the wonderful things they have.
My "SPECIAL THANKS" goes to Sydney.
Thanks for putting this all together and
making it so FUN!!!

I've heard about Broadbents for years now but have never been - and now to know about the Quilting Cottage means I MUST make time for these shops! I do know about Lizzie's - I went broke there when my grandson was born - and if HE had been a SHE I would be in debtor's prison today! Thanks for the great post - so jealous of all the fun! xo, Nan

What a fun day together. I sure wish I could've been there but had other commitments that day.

I loved all of the pictures and the projects look great. I actually went down to Quilting Cottage a few days ago and bought some wool so I could make one of the flowers that Suzanne taught. What a fun flower for hats, bags, headbands, clothing, or just about anything.
