Kennel Girls.....Part 2

I am at retreat and have not been able to get a computer until today, so I am a little late in bringing you part 2 of the Kennel Girls. I am excited to share with you the fun thing we do each year at the Kennel Girls quilt guild. We have what is called the "Ugly Quilt Contest". We all get to choose a brown paper bag with fabric in it. We cannot look at it until after we have chosen it. Once it is looked at we cannot put it back. We are to take the fabric from the bag, use at least 90% of it to make a quilt. We can add another fabric or two if we desire. The quilt is to be finished before our annual meeting, where we have a quilt extravaganza, lunch, and trunk show. All of the ugly quilts are hung in one area. The public and members of the guild get to vote on their favorites and then prizes are awarded that evening when we have a special dinner with our spouses. It is a blast!
Now I will show you the gals that chose to participate this year, with their ugly fabrics in hand. However...there were not any ugly fabrics this year!

Jann was so pleased and can't wait to get

started so she could use it for Valentines Day.

Janey loves blue and red,

 so this was perfect thing for her.

LaRee loves to make floral scrappy

quilts and all these fabrics were just that!

JoyLynn was very happy with

her fabrics. They fit her so well.

Sylvia was the lucky one because she

 chose two bags and was happy with both.

    This one is the one that she will send to her sister.
