Another Special Day at the Cactus Needle Retreat!

Friday was a special day for us at the Cactus Needle Retreat. My special BFF Nedra (Cactus Needle) had arranged for us to gather at the quilt shop in town... Quilted Works...
where we were first greeted
by Nedra's sweet friend...
Cathy (in yellow)... that works there.
Joining us that day were some very
talented women. Sweet Sherri
(A Quilting Life) came over from Nevada
with her darling friend... Dawn
I dearly loved meeting these gals!
My dear friend... Nanette (Freda's Hive)
brought her two darling sisters...
Michelle and Paula...
whom I have now adopted as my own!
My  BFF... adorable Lori (Bee in my Bonnet)
came with me
and to our surprise we were joined by this wonderful gal...
straight from Tulsa, Oklahoma...
Glenna (Glenna's Gabfest)!

Nedra shared with us her new pattern and
pillow that she made using Textured Magic.
I love what Texture Magic does. I can't
wait to give it a try. Nedra was so gracious that
she sent us all home with a package of our own.
 Lori showed us her beautiful
blocks that she has been working on.
Her work is so amazing!
I hope I grow up to be like her!
Lori spent the day instructing us
on her new pattern... "Eat Cake"...
and teaching us her fabulous way to applique.
 She does needle turn applique
and her technique is so incredible!
Glenna shared with us her wonderful new quilt
design that she is working on.
You may want to check out her book...
I absolutely fell in love with this and will
be anxious for the pattern to be realeased.
And before we knew it... it was time to go:(
We decided to gather together for one last picture in front of Nedra's "Mumbo Gumbo" quilt that hangs on the wall in the classroom of Quilted Works.

This was one "AWESOME RETREAT" with some of the "GREATEST" women you will ever find in all of the quilting... blogging world. I was very thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful event.

Thanks Nedra for inviting me!!!

Wow, I want to learn this needle turn applique. Their are so many patterns that I can't wait to try, just lacking good technique...

IT is all fun to relive. I love the picture of my sisters together. It is just the cutest picture. I am going to swipe it from your photos and save a copy to my computer. Sigh. What fun.
