Kim worked on a couple of her projects that she will be needing for the American Quilting quilt retreat that we will be attending in a few weeks.
I worked on cutting out my next little Schnibbles quilt that I will be teaching in March to the Kennel Girls quilt group. I need to have it ready to show at our next guild meeting on Tuesday.
I made a great discovery as I was taking the piece of 5 " cardboard off of the back of the charm pack. The thought came to me that this might be the perfect thing I need to make a view template for fussy cutting out my 4" blocks that I will need to make for my new Valentine quilt.
I simply measured a 4" square on the inside of the 5" square and cut it out with my rotary cutter. Actually...the piece of cardboard that comes on the back of the charm packs is so sturdy that I had to cut through it a couple of times...being careful to not go beyond the 1/2" allowance on each end!
It was just the PERFECT thing! It worked out so well...so I quess you know what I will be working on today...that is...after I get my Schnibbles quilt top sewn together. I realize it is a little late to start a Valentine quilt...but wait until you see how cute it is going to be and you will see why it is that I just can't wait to get it done.
Oh...I almost forgot to mention the first that Kim and I did before we began quilting. We stopped off at the Quilting Cottage here in town to look for a certain piece of fabric. Well, as you can see that only got me into trouble! Kim said to me when we got back...she knows what gets her into trouble...ME! She was jokingly blaming me for all the fun she had spending money on a couple of new projects that she found that she couldn't live without. I quess you could say...we are partners in crime!
And what would a quilting day be without my favorite mix...a little M&M's....a handful of rasins...and a equal amount of fresh almonds. YUM! It is the thing I keep at my quilting table whenever I quilt. Then of course...a little bowl of cinnamon hearts to set the mood.
I can't wait to show you my Valentine's quilt and what it is that I will be making out of the new fabric I purchased. It was a great day! What could be better than quilting with a freind!

You are so lucky to have such a talented friend in Kim. What a fun day. Judi got that same Valentine fabric and told me a little bit about the quilt you both are making. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished project. (Great idea on how to fussy cut).

It doesn't get better than spending a fun day with Kim and buying fabric. You must be in sewing heaven.

Nothing better than M&M's and some raisins. Good food to keep the brain creative I reckon. Kind regards, Anita.
Hi Rae Ann,
Those fabrics would look good in my basket, in fact I may have one or two of those..
Quilt shopping is THE best shopping and even better with a friend although I can do quite serious damage to my credit card by myself.
