What's Happening In My Little World!

It been a while since my last post... so I thought that it was about time that I let you in on what has been happening in my little world.

I  have been off to another retreat at my cabin this last week and it was so much fun! This time I was joined by my sweet friends...Nedra, Judi, and Susann. We all spent a quiet week in the mountains with no interruptions. It doesn't get much better than that!
My computer even decided it was on vacation too and would not function very well at all.... not even for me to send an e-mail. I think that is why I was actually able to get some things done.
The first on my list of projects was my little Schnibbles
quilt that I will be teaching in April to the Kennel Girls.
I used Moda's Boutique by Chez Moi.
I love the bright vibrant colors from this line.
The pattern I made was the Schnibbles... Plan C.
Susann decided to work on hers as well...
but felt like pulling her hair out a time or two!
I just happen to sit across from her and
was able to snap a picture of her. She is a riot!
This is Judi and Nedra doing what they love most!
This was the first thing that Nedra started
and would have finished but she didn't
bring enough of the solid gold with her.
She was able to start and finish her Aqua
and Red exchange quilt. It turned out so cute!
Judi was as busy as one person could be.
She brought the Valentine quilt to work on that
she and I bought together while in St. George.
I absolutely love how it turned out
and can't wait to get mine completed.
When she wasn't quilting... she was cooking.
Man a live... that girl can cook!
This was by far one of my favorite dishes. I even told Judi that this is what I wanted her to bring me on my birthday! Now... I can't tell you how good it was. You will have to discover it for yourself. She promised me that she would put the recipes on her blog and I think we should hold her to it! LOL!
Honestly... make sure you stop by her blog and book mark it. She will be having great things posted in the next day or two and from here on out. Believe me... you will be very happy that you did!
Especially when you are looking at food like this!
This is what I am telling you...
nothing she makes is normal food.
It is as good or better than it looks. YUM!
When we weren't quilting or eating...
we were shopping.
Susann even found a darling piece of fabric
that she had been looking for.
Judi and Nedra are trying to match a piece and find the
back for Judi's other quilt that she got finished. You will
have to hop on over to her blog to see it. It was a beauty!
This is the little quilt shop on the Main Street in Afton.
It is owned by my good freind Marie Wilkes.
We always stop in when we're in town.

And let's not forget my favorite eating place...
Rocky Mountain Seafood in Afton...
where my friend Julie will take care of you...
by serving you the best seafood ever...
that she has flown in daily.
Who would think... fresh seafood in Star Valley, Wy.!?!
All in all... We girls had a wonderful time and
it was hard to wanna come back home to the real life...
but we did and we're happy to be home again!

I really think you girls had too good of a time!! Love all the projects that you worked on. I think with all the sitting, sewing, and food, I would have gained about 10 pounds!! But I guess the shopping helped burn some of those calories.

Sounds like you all would love a "repeat" of this retreat. How fun, great quilt time, great eatting time - and most of all - wonderful friends to share it all with.

Blessings.

Susann is a hoot. I need to get to know here better. You girls had so much fun. I'm so jealous!!!! Next time maybe. I love your schnibbles. You know I haven't seen one of those quilts I haven't just adored. It seems no matter what fabric is used, they all turn out so adorable.

Hi Rae Ann,
Boy, am I missing my quilting buds. I had a great time at the cabin. I love looking at the pictures and remembering the great time we had--and the wonderful food. But I do think I left my brain home this trip. Good thing I brought my seam ripper!!!! Thank you again for everything!!!!!
Love ya, Susann
